Lyon (French: [ljɔ̃] (listen); UK: , US: ,; Arpitan: Liyon, pronounced [ʎjɔ̃]; Occitan: Lion, hist. Lionés) also spelled in English as Lyons, is the third-largest city and second-largest metropolitan area of France.
